Certificate of
Ordination to the Priesthood
June 5, 1946

Pope Pius XIII

Below is a photo-copy of the certificate of Ordination to the Priesthood of Fr. Lucian Pulvermacher, O.F.M. Cap. on the 5th of June 1946.  Note that the word PRESBYTERATUM means priesthood.

The document was made and signed in La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA (diocese of La Crosse) on the 16th of August 1946.  The place of ordination as noted in the document is the Chapel of St. Anthony, Marathon, Wisconsin, USA.  That was not the case.  Since the Monastery Chapel was too small for the ceremony, the parish church was used, that is, in Marathon, as can be seen in the Nota Bene!

On top of the document one can see JOANNES PATRICUS.  Note the signature of the Bishop is +Joannes P. Treacy.  At that time he was Titular Bishop of Metelitanus.  Eventually he became the actual bishop of the diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA.  The Holy Father, Pope Pius XIII, has the original certificate of his ordination.
